A qualified Air Traffic Controller with extensive experience in airport operational management. Prior to joining APD in 2003, Grant worked at Newcastle International Airport, with the last 14 years of his service as Director of Operations.
In addition to his responsibilities for all operational matters, he was responsible for a range of training initiatives including the creation of a CAA approved in-house RFFS training service. Grant has served on a number of national and international committees and working groups, including UK CAA Safety Regulation Group, DETR Airspace Policy Directorate and as a former Chairman of AOA Technical Committee. He is a member of the British Institute of Management, a member of the Chartered Institute of Transport and holds a Private Pilots Licence.
